HAVRE, MT – In a meaningful celebration, Montana State University–Northern hosted a check presentation marking the first proceeds from a remarkable true-crime memoir, Murder on Montana’s Hi-Line, authored by Clem Pellett. The funds will support the Clarence C. Pellett Memorial Endowed Scholarship, which is dedicated to helping students from Montana’s Hi-Line access life-changing educational opportunities in high-demand trades.
“Murder on Montana’s Hi-Line is the culmination of 15 years of research. It’s totally authentic from stem to stern—and I’m proud of it,” said Clem Pellett. “After more than seven decades of silence, finally the Pellett side of the story is being told. Murder took my grandfather, justice eluded him, time forgot him—until now. His legacy will live on through the scholarship fund.”
The Clarence C. Pellett Memorial Endowed Scholarship will benefit students from Montana’s Hi-Line who are pursuing education in trades such as diesel technology, plumbing, welding, electrical, and civil engineering technology.
Clem held launch events for the book in May and June, drawing crowds eager to hear his story and support the scholarship. All proceeds from the book go directly toward building the endowed scholarship fund.
The MSU-Northern Foundation extends its deep gratitude to Clem Pellett for his powerful storytelling and generosity, which will open doors for generations of students pursuing careers vital to Montana’s workforce and future.
